Hi! I've lived in Texas since I was three; I moved here from California. Who all here is from Texas? If so, were you born in Texas, or were you born somewhere else?

Post 2 by TexasRed (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Wednesday, 01-Jun-2005 22:23:42

Well guess what, I'm from Texas. I was born in Japan when my Dad was stationed over there with the Air Force and then when I was two, we moved home to the states. I lived in Texas from the age of 5 to 8 and the year I was 9 we lived in California where Dad retired from the Air Force and we moved back to Texas and I've been here ever since. So since I'm almost 43, I consider my self a Texan and am very proud of it. I live in Denison, about 70 miles north of Dallas, right on the Red River about 5 miles south of the Oklahoma border.

Hi. I'm from Texas also. I was born in and have lived in San Antonio all my life. And off and on (From the summer of 1990 thru October of 2002), I used to stay in Austin for the summer programs they had at TSB and then for the program at Criss Cole.

Hello September Star! My name is Chris, and I was born and raised in Texas my entire life. I've attended several TSBVI Summer Propgrams. In which I started going to them when I was 8 and went til I turned 18.

I've also attended the Criss Cole Rehabilitation Center and the Post Secondary Program (newest program that TSBVI provides now) in 2003 through 2004 when I was 19 and was 20 when I graduated from them both. They were pretty cool, except for being under blindfold. God how I hated that.

Lets see, I grew up in arlington, then moved to austin in 93, I moved back to Fort Worth in 98. so here I am. Boo boo is from texas as well she's lived here most of her life. growing up in gainsville and now living in Fort Worth. She has a house up in Dennison as well so that is kind of a small world. I didn't realize Texas Red was from there.

Hi, I'm pretty new here, so it's nice to find fellow Texans.

I've lived in Texas all my life (almost). I was born in Denver Colorado (not my fault), and I spent a year in training in Cincinatti Ohio.
I grew up in Charlotte Texas--it's near San Antonio. Attended the Texas school for the blind from age six to eighteen. Worked in San Antonio for thirty years as a computer programmer, and in Austin at Criss Cole at the Assistive Technology Unit for seven years.

So, all I can say is "GO SPURS"!

Hey, I know this is an old topic, and I know I've got nothing new to say.

I just ran across this topic and wanted to bring it up to the top of topics with new posts so some of the newer folks can see it, and may want to post to it.

Okay, done!

Another from San Antonio, here! I grew up here, lived out of state for a decade, and here I am again.

I don't know any other blind people nearby, and would be glad to find a friend or two, in the state. If any of you feel inclined, drop me a note. *smile*

I've lived here from the age of 2 because of legal matters, who knows where I would have ended up with my family if it wern't for texas laws. lol
Anyway,I've been to TSBVI summer programs off and on and am currently living just north of austin In roundrock.

Post 21 by Texas Shawn (The cute, cuddley, little furr ball) on Friday, 25-Dec-2009 18:45:52

Post 22 by cumbiambera2005 (i just keep on posting!) on Saturday, 26-Dec-2009 8:11:28

I too am from Texas. I live in Lubbock, but I was living in Austin for about a year in 2006, and even before that I attended TSBVI for about 2 years, and have also been to Criss Cole. And wow I thought I knew everyone from Texas! Didn't realize some of the people who posted here were even from here! Interesting as that seems to be most of the zonne population lol!
